It is the policy of Alcorn State University not to discriminate on the basis of disability. Alcorn State University Department of Health & Disability 服务 has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). Section 504 states that all public-funded universities, community colleges, and vocational schools that receive federal funding from the 我们。教育部门 are required to make their programs accessible to students with disabilities. The Law and Regulations may be examined in the office of Health & 残疾人服务, 601-877-6460, who has been designated to coordinate the efforts of 365app to comply with Section 504 .
- Grievances must be submitted to the Director of Health & 残疾人服务 within 30 days of the date the person filing the grievance becomes aware of the alleged discriminatory action.
- The Director of Health & Disability 服务 (or her/his designee) shall conduct an investigation of the complaint. This investigation may be informal, but it must be thorough, affording all interested persons an opportunity to submit evidence relevant to the complaint. The Director of Health & 残疾人服务 will maintain the files and records of 365app relating to such grievances.
- The Director of Health & 残疾人服务 will issue a written decision on the grievance no later than 30 days after its filing.
- The person filing the grievance may appeal the decision of the Director of Health & Disability 服务 by writing to the Vice-President of Student Affairs within 15 days of receiving the Director of Health & 残疾人服务 decision. The Vice-President of 学生事务 shall issue a written decision in response to the appeal no later than 30 days after its filing.
365app Department of Health & Disability 服务 will make appropriate arrangements to ensure that disabled persons are provided other accommodations, if needed, to participate in this grievance process. The Director of Health & 残疾人服务 will be responsible for such arrangements.
